COMMON TO ECE, MECH A&B

Time: Three Hours                               Date:   10.11.2011                              Maximum: 100 marks
ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS (5x20=100)

1. The distance of the focus from the directrix is 60mm. Trace the path of the point which moves such that its distance from the focus is equal to its distance from the directrix. Draw the tangent and normal at 65mm from the focus.
2. A circus man rides a motorcycle inside a globe of diameter 3.14 m. The motor cycle wheel is 1m diameter. Draw the locus of a point on the circumference of the motor cycle wheel for its one complete turn. Take a scale 1:20.
3. A line AB measuring 75mm long has one of its ends 50 mm infront of VP and 15mm above HP. The top view of the line is 50mm long. Draw and measure the front view. The other end is 15 mm infront of VP and is above HP. Determine the true inclination and traces.
4. A length of the plan of a straight line AB is 50mm and length of the elevation is 70mm. The plan AB is inclined at 30o to XY line. Draw the projections of the line AB, assuming the point A to be situated on HP and 20mm  infront of VP. Also find the true length and true inclinations with HP and VP.
5. A square plate of ABCD of side 30mm is resting on HP on one of its corner and the diagonal AC inclined at 30o to HP. The diagonal BD inclined at 45o to VP and parallel to HP. Draw its projections.
