FIRST SEMESTER
GE211 – ENGINEERING GRAPHICS
COMMON TO CIVIL, AERO, CSE, EEE, IT & EIE

Time: Three Hours                               Date:   10.11.2011                              Maximum: 100 marks
ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS (5x20=100)

1. Construct one convolution of an involute of a circle of diameter 25mm. Draw tangent and normal at a point on the involute 45mm distant from the centre of the circle.
2. A fixed point is at 60mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the curve when eccentricity is 2/3. Name the curve. Draw tangent and normal to the curve through a point P, which is at 65mm from the straight line.
3. The end P of a line PQ, 70mm long is 15mm above HP and 20mm infront of the VP. Q is 40mm above the HP. Its plan is inclined at 45o to the VP. Draw the projections of the line and find its true inclinations with the VP and HP.
4. The midpoint of a line PQ 70mm long, is 25mm above HP and 40mm infront of VP. It is inclined at 35o to HP and 45o to VP. Draw its projections.
5. A regular pentagonal lamina of 30mm sides has one edge in HP and inclined at an angle of 30o to VP. Draw its projections when its surface is inclined at 45o to HP.
